Robert Downey Jr to return to Marvel as 'Iron Man'
Earlier this year, Robert Downey Jr bowed out as Iron Man in ‘Avengers Endgame’ leaving fans in tears. However, a source close to Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) claims that the 54-year-old will be returning to the franchise sooner rather than later.
According to We Got This Covered, bosses are prepping for a series based on Ironheart (RiRi Williams), the teenage genius who continues Stark’s legacy in the comic books. It’s believed Downey Jr. will return in a voiceover capacity as his character will be an AI – similar to Paul Bettany’s J.A.R.V.I.S., who will train RiRi to become a superhero.
The makers are yet to make an official announcement about the same but fans are certainly going to be thrilled to see Downey Jr return to MCU in whichever way he can.
However, Downey Jr. will reportedly reprise his Iron Man role for a new Disney+ spin-off. Disney’s new streaming service is set to offer the perfect opportunity to bring back the much-loved superheroes. Earlier, Marvel has also announced a separate movie on ‘Loki’ (God of mischief) on Disney+. Loki played by Tom Hiddleston was killed by Thanos in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’.
